Kent, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company has announced the promotion of Jason Evans to market manager, Davey Residential/Commercial (R/C) Western operations.
Evans started with Davey in 2006 as an accelerated sales trainee. He then served as a sales arborist and assistant district manager in the San Francisco R/C office. He was promoted to district manager of the Menlo Park R/C office in 2009 and then to district manager of the East Bay R/C office in 2010.
“Jason’s diligent pursuit of safe work operations, high-quality client experiences and recruiting new talent makes him an excellent mentor for younger employees, a role he will excel at in this new position,” said Jed Day, vice president and general manager, western operations, R/C services.
Evans is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist® and a 2008 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences (D.I.T.S.), which is Davey’s flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques. He is a current member of the Davey President’s Council.
John Arnett has been promoted to district manager of the Sacramento R/C office.
Arnett started with Davey in 1998 as a foreman/trimmer. He was promoted to sales arborist in 2000 and assistant district manager in 2012.
“John has a proven track record and has been instrumental in growing our Sacramento office,” Evans said. “He has a wealth of Plant Health Care knowledge thanks to his diverse experience within Davey. That breadth of information will serve his clients well in the Sacramento area.”
Arnett is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist® and an ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist®. He holds an associate’s degree in horticulture from American River College.
Joe Berg has been promoted to district manager of the East Bay R/C office.
Berg started with Davey in 2006 as a groundman in the Santa Clara R/C office. He held various positions of increasing responsibility and was promoted to sales arborist in 2008. In 2013 he was promoted to assistant district manager of the East Bay office.
“Joe started with Davey in our accelerated sales training program, which is designed to train and promote those who possess the talent, desire and key competencies to become the future leaders of Davey Tree,” Evans said. “Joe has proven his ability to help clients achieve their landscape goals through clear, thoughtful communication with our field employees.”
Berg is a 2008 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, which is Davey’s flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques. He is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist®, holds an ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification and is a certified commercial pesticide applicator. Berg holds a bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Missouri.
