Kent, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company has announced the promotion of Geoff Cowan to operations manager of Davey’s Chicago-based Residential/Commercial (R/C) north-central operations.
Cowan started with Davey in 1983 in the West Cleveland R/C office. Since then, Cowan has held several positions of increasing responsibility with Davey, including district manager of the Kansas City and South Chicago R/C offices. In 2014, he was promoted to market manager of the West Chicago operating group.
“Geoff has a long track record of being focused on client service,” said Jed Day, vice president and general manager, western operations, R/C services. “He is an effective communicator who gives clear, succinct direction to his team and has demonstrated an ability to garner the support of his colleagues while delivering positive results for the Davey Company.”
Cowan is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist® and a past member of the Davey President’s Council, whose members serve a three-year term on various committees to brainstorm and research new ideas related to the company’s operations. He is a 1987 graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences, which is Davey’s flagship training program in biological sciences, safety, tree and plant care and management techniques. And he is a past recipient of the Davey Outstanding Manager Award.
